چکیده

Leukemic cells from a child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) had high natural killer (NK) activity against K562 as determined by the 51Cr release assay at a 40:1 effector:target ratio: percent lysis was 76.8% (147.4% of normal lymphocyte value) and higher than that of control leukemic cells from 12 childhood ALL (0.1% ± 0.3%). Two leukemic cell lines (SPI-801 and SPI-802) were established from the patient, and they were essentially the same as the freshly harvested leukemic cells in their morphology. cytochemistry. immunologic markers. and functions. The cultured cell lines as well as the fresh leukemic cells had receptors for sheep red blood cells. IgG-Fc, and C3. The cultured cells were OKM1 . Ia and asialo-GM, and were OKT-3 . OKT-4 . OKT-6. OKT-8. Leu-7 . human mono-

Face Bones Involvement and Relapse in a Case of Childhood Acute Leukemia

Midface bones are an unusual site for primary presentation and relapse in acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Herein, we describe a case of acute pre B cell lymphoblastic leukemia with leukemic infiltration of maxilla and bone marrow involvement. At the time of relapse, the patient presented again with maxilla involvement and the phenotype changed to biphenotypic lymphoblastic leukemia. Our case sug...

Association of TPMT (rs1800460) Gene Polymorphism with Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in a Population from Guilan, Iran

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a malignant transformation and proliferation of lymphoid progenitor cells in bone marrow and blood, which is mainly found in children. Thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) is a thiopurine drug metabolizer enzyme that is prescribed for the treatment of ALL. Several single nucleotide polymorphisms in the TPMT gene have been reported to be associated with the d...

Lineage Switch in Childhood Leukemia: A Case Report and Review of Literature

Acute leukemia which is the most common cancer in children is a heterogeneous group of clonal malignancies. The conversion of the leukemic cell lineage during the course of the disease or later is termed lineage switch. It has been rarely reported in the literature. In leukemia lineage switch, conversions from lymphoblastic leukemia to myeloid leukemia or vice versa are reported. Herein, we rep...

Investigating the apoptotic and anti-proliferative effects of Juniperus excelsa fractions on Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia cell line (Nalm-6)

Abstract Background and Objectives Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a hematological malignancy of lymphoid lineage. Side effects of chemotherapy drugs is a major reason for the tendency to use Herbal medicines. Previous studies on Juniperus excelsa (J.excelsa) have shown anti-cancer properties on some cancer cell lines. This study aimed to investigate the effect of three fractions of J.excelsa ...
